The Home I Knew

Spiders creeping,

trains screeching,

father screaming,

children weeping.

Snowball fights

and buzzing bees,

cigarette lights

and scraped knees.

Grocery stores

and restaurants near,

here I am happy

but I also know fear.

I am falling,

being ripped away,

the place I called home

is home no more
