An homage

I don’t know where I’m going.
I don’t even know who I am.
I’m becoming war, only one
Reality can survive.

Turmoil blazes within the
Confines of my fiery core,
Pain across the expanse of one.
What will be remaining, alive?

But there is always a light here.
Never burned out from the darkness,
No longer is it destruction.
It is rebirth, resurrection.

It’s the light of literature
That lasts through the night during dreams,
Giving us living sensations;
We are keeping people alive.

Emily Dickinson once said
Finite infinity, meaning
I can, you can, be everything.
Empowering, being myself.

Even Robert Frost agrees that
Self is growing into my own.
The only job I need is to
Be myself and independent.

These great authors experience
Universal truths about life.
In hopes that we can discover
Who we truly are or will be.

What type of job will change my life?
I look to help, smile, and love
Because I found where I’m going.
That job is forward, tranquil self.
