A Holocaust

Thu, 04/25/2013 - 18:30 -- DC129

A silver yawn
her intake of breath
And she closes her eyes
and stretches her sobbing limbs.

A monstrous groan
her wasted abdomen
And she closes her eyes
to conceal herself from the menacing lips of starvation.

A bottomless gash
her crimson blood
And she closes her eyes
and looks far off from the whip of her hunter.

A steep incline
her frozen feet
And she closes her eyes
and continues on the direct path to hell.

A metal door
her outstretched arm
And she closes her eyes
And breathes her last breath.
