Holidays

They are saying It’s Christmas The bells are all a’ringing, But somewhere, deep inside Someone’s not singing The beds may be made, full of joy and of care But a little girl’s still crying Since her idol’s not there We’ve all lost a lot This year, of 16, It comes back in waves Of hate speech on the TV screen Good people we’ve lost Happy people, those down in the dopes Those who were cared for And with them our hopes We’ve resigned to a world Not nearly so nice Of hate and of fear Timid people like mice But the worst thing of all Is those we can’t forgetThe girl from The VoiceAnd a Snape-like onsetSo in the corner of the room,Head between her legsThat little girl’s still cryingThe older one is sipping the dregsChristmas reminds usOf all that we’ve lostThat we’ve given upAnd in the wind tossedSo this upcoming yearMake it better and shineLet People Know they matterWhether in person or online In the end, in 2017We will lose more, it’s trueBut the worst part of allIs if you’re dishonest to you.
