I don’t know why I do this to myself

Consistently putting myself through hell

You on my mind and my heart on my sleeve

Every time I’d ever misconceive

Every little thing that’d make me believe

That you would be the best thing about me

There were signs that I failed to see

And flaws peeking from underneath

And it all ended one horrible day

Before I realized it, it was all too late

And I’ve yet to set myself straight

My mind bent over the past

And seeming you moved on pretty fast

My heart has only accepted the contrast

So in my feelings my heart shall dwell
