Him and Her

B L I N D

I see the way he looks at her

He wants her

He would brighten her

The perfect two

Oh, joy!

Like they were matched

Meant to be

But,

She's too blind!

She's too blind to realize

That she's missing out on so much

I'm not going to tap her lightly on the shoulder, though

I'll let her stay blind

Forever

I'll have her steer clear of my gold

Lead her to the copper

The dirt

Because the copper

And the dirt

Is useless to me

D E S P E R A T E

I want

My diamond

My gold

I wouldn't share

Even if it meant hurting her

Even if it meant hurting him

Even if it meant hurting them

Because

If she doesn't want him

I'll have him

If there was even the slightest chance of it

I wouldn't throw it away

Like she threw him away

L E A V I N G

She walks around the halls

Leaving the copper staring

Leaving the dirt wishing

Leaving the silver gawking

Leaving the coal stopping to stare

Leaving the rubies licking their lips

Leaving the lapis smiling

Leaving the rocks tripping

Leaving my gold admiring her

S H E  C O U L D

She could make the pretty ones be ashamed

Because she's prettier

She could make the smart ones feel dumb

Because she's smarter

She could make the sane ones talk in their sleep

Because she's better

B E T T E R

She's so good in every way

Better than Gwen

Better than Mary

Better than Kaylee

Better than Cambria

Better than Sue

Better than Hailey

Better than Sasha

Better than Audrey

Better than Jewel

Better than me
