Small dark places are where I escape
Some may think it’s rather strange
That I seek solace in this place
So small and cramp
One can barely breath
But here there is silence
No yelling mothers
Or scolding fathers
No angsty sisters
The social standards
The moral obligations
The high moral of friends
There are no guns in my closet
Just clothes and shoes
And the gentle beat of my heart
So here I wait for the world to sleep
Till I can calm down and breath
Get my thoughts in order
Small and dark and hidden safe
