Hidden in Plain Sight

Hiding his face behind the mask that others saw.

Rosy cheeks, big smile. Happy as could be.

He looked through to others, but built walls around himself.

Protected he stayed, never changing what he understood.

Others saw what they wanted, and never dug deeper.

They got what they needed, yet never gave back.

Trapped by his heart, a puddle of isolation.
