Author's Note: This was a poem written by Catrina Sable, a good friend of mine, and myself. Enjoy!
Two girls that feel alone
Lost in their head
Replaying the battles,
Hearing the never ending screams,
Reopening old wounds, creating them anew
Forever apart
Two shattered hearts.
Two girls once happy
Wear a mask to hide the scars
Build a wall to hide the pain
Created by an ignorant world.
Their pain in vain,
For they've been told that what they feel is wrong,
That they're just searching for attention,
So they pretend that nothing is wrong.
They buried their feelings under lies
To see each other's teary eyes.
Opening themselves up,
For they have lost their trust
No one can understand them
Can they even understand themselves?
The jumbled mess inside their head
Where they wonder if they'd be better off dead.
Would anyone miss them if they were gone?
Perhapse they'd miss each other, families would mourn,
But perhaps not
The world would just move on.
Their families would forget,
If not they'd live with regret.
Hurting the only people who care.
Pushing them away, because they feel like a burden.
Building up walls to shield themselves
From prying eyes, and preying minds.
They hide their pain.
Alone in the shadows of their minds
The monsters come out to play.
Laughing or crying to them it's all the same.
It is a twisted dance in the dark.
