Her Name Means Beauty

Even silence is ecstasyYour heartbeat in my ear, a steady drum.Monumental or minimal calamitiesUntil my breathing levels, your fingers comb my hair.  Your hand in mine, a rushed societal defianceBut you are unabashedly in love.Fierce pride in your gaze challenges opposition,Femme fatale in men’s clothingI could never be so bold before you. Pouring over scrapbooks with my mom,You are a part of my family.Baking Christmas cookies into abstract blobsAnd making me want to be a better personFor myself and for you. Timelessness overpowers critiques of our youthFor my friend and my first love are one.Forgetting the past and forgiving my flaws,We make new adventures every day.Oh so bright are our futures together.
