there are demons in her brain

eating away

gnawing and chewing and crunching

telling her she's nothing

breaking her down

piece

by

          piece

she has no choice

they've taken her voice and

made it theirs

she walks runs crawls cries away

so we can't catch her to hold her

to love her to tell her

she doesn't have

      to

listen

they're liars and cheaters

her brain is killing her

and we can't do a thing

but cry the cold black tears

with her and

beg them to please kill me

           instead.
