Help Us

Tue, 03/07/2017 - 11:56 -- Dierdre

Help Us. We cry, we plea and we wait.

Help Us. We wait at America's gates.

We are shut out and shunned our battles not won.

We look to Horizons that star spangled sun.

Help us. They don't seem to know who we are.

We work their jobs and have traveled so far.

The harder we work, the more afraid we become.

Our bothers shut out and the others run.

Can't you hear the noise? The sound of that gun?

We look to the north and look to the south.

The try and silence no words escape the mouth.

Ruled by fear of uncertainty.

Sleepless nights, what's not shall never be.

Are they blind? They try and leave us behind.

I heard it, you heard it, we don't look like their kind.

Our hearts beat and our blood bleeds red.

Your children my children have to be fed.

I got a job for security.

Is that your method? To chastise me?

I belong here too, I earned my keep.

But why me? I'm haunted, I can't sleep.

Help us in unison we should to the stars.

It's time to pick up and heal these scars.
