Help Me Be Happy

Location

Whenever I'm lonely, I go see my best, true friend.

She's only home during the night, though I miss her throughout the day.

So I'm sad, depressed, and lonely until the darkness comes

And my beauty brings her luminescent light my way.

She stands by me, side by side, and we walk through the night.

I tell her all my dreams, nightmares too, and troubles and fears.

She smiles and giggles and kisses my head

While her comforting words dry my tears.

By the end of the night when she walks me home,

I'm happy and relief washes over all other senses.

She helped me through another day

When others tore down my defenses.

Every night I lie in bed and dream of her.

I know she is looking down from the sky.

I know she's waiting for tomorrow

So she can save me when I cry.

I sleep with a smile on my broken face.

I dream of hope and happiness and light.

Most say the darkness brings sadness and anger

But because of her, I'm strong at night.
