Hello! How May I Help You? (When I Can't Even Help Myself)

Location

Hello! How may I help you? I greet each and everyone

I’ve said it all for months, yet it feels like I’ve just begun

More orders become messed up

Less tips are being paid

Tears run down my smiling face as I wonder why I stay

Hello! How may I help you? I greet each and everyone

I thought that I was amazing, better than me were none

That’s what I was always told, unknown it was a bluff

My grades were never good enough, I was to be outdone

As high as I could get them, they would always be rebuffed

Hello! How may I help you? I greet each and everyone

Everyone, everywhere, just like an old rerun

At work, at school, at home, it’s what I’ve always said

I’m happy on the outside

But inside I feel dead

Hello! How may I help you? I greet each and everyone

My will has become broken

 My smile has been undone

I no longer can be happy, no long can have fun

All I feel is rage, scorching my insides, burning like the sun

Hello! How can you help me? I beg each and everyone

The chains are growing weaker, the monster knows it’s won

It wails and howls and rattles around inside its cage

It’s waiting to be let out

It’s ready to take the stage

Hello! How may I help you? It roars at me, myself, and I

But I keep the monster shunned

I lock him locked up inside

And to the people that ask me what’s wrong

“I’m just tired”, I shall lie

Hello! How may I help you? I greet each and everyone

I’ve said it all for months, yet it feels like I’ve just begun
