In A Heart's Eye

I am always seizing

Feeling extremes, never in-betweens,

I'm wrought with suffering and white hot joy

Kicking and punching like a child

Screaming for a toy

A restless, endless, constant

I bang on her rib cage

Demanding an end to this constant beat

this drum solo I have to keep up

for her to take a breath

Give me an end to this suffering!

Put my worries to rest!

I want more than she can give me

without her death.

When will I stop seizing, human?

When will I be still?
