Heartbreak
I’ve always thought of heartbreak
As something from failing romances,
But I am learning with such a high stake:
Heartbreak does not discriminate against acquaintances.
It is foolish of me to feel such a way:
I can’t even begin to explain it to you,
You’re so blissfully unaware that the things you say,
The things you do,
Further prove to me that I do not belong in your world.
I just wish you would tell me how you really feel
Because at least then I’d know the stance you hold.
This back-and-forth thinking makes my head reel.
All I ask for now is your honesty,
For answers you could easily give me.
I’ll never get it, though.
I guess that’s just the way these heartbreaks go.
