The Heart of Home
I looked for God
in the heart
of all good people
What I found were their demons
So many search for higher power
with no power
of their own
We try to invite god in
without a home
Take a step back
Build up yourself
When your house is constructed
a need is fulfilled
You will have filled
your god-sized hole
with something more
useful
When its lightless inside
light your own fire
Leave no corners for god to hide
There you'll find
God doesn't exist
but neither does your
emptiness
Imagination, as a child's
feared the dark
You illuminated
with education
of yourself, of other's hell
of acceptance, removing your shell
Ignorant
no more
your cave aglow
you share this love
and take it home
