Hear me out!

Alright, this is a poem, I know what you're thinking, "it's probably gonna be lame."
it's alright, even I sometimes find it an entertaining game.
just bear with me, pretty please?
this poem could be merely torn and thrown into the breeze.
and swept away, it flies into water, a river, a waterfall.
that's besides the point, little know-it-all.
you see, what is with the world today?
how we control what other people say?
we tear them down if they don't look as good.
we tear them down just because we're "in that mood."
we break them apart if they don't drink.
we break them down to the very brink.
brink? brink? brink of what?
the brink of this breaking point when we call them a whore, a slut.
BUT you have no idea what you would do do,
if this person began to pick on YOU.
see, you don't think once or twice.
you don't think is this mean or nice.
you called that girl over there a slut.
you know she's a virgin, right, but to you "so what?"
you called that boy over there gay.
what do you expect him to say?
his mother is an alcoholic and his father's in jail.
to you "oh, whatever, he'll get over it in awhile!"
now how would you like it if someone walked up to you and threw you down?
then no one would lend a hand once you're on the ground?
today's society blame's the government for ALL problems and mistakes.
but is it really them? or are we all turning into FAKES?
you claim it's her or it is him that's wrong.
do you just feel a sense of no belong?
or do you like to hurt other people to feel their pain?
turn it into joy you love to gain?
just wait, just wait and hear me out!
do you wanna know what I'm really talking about?
all the girls you picked on? all the boys?
how would you feel if you found out their funeral is soon, when you thought of them as toys?
if all those comments and crude words cost a life?
all YOUR words ended their lives with a bloody gun or knife?
yeah, you wouldn't feel so good, would you?
so please. will you think about next time before you set out with what you do?
your words CAN cause a life to end.
it's true, I'd know, that happened to a friend.
pass this on in hopes of another life can be saved.
and hopefully this world will finally learn to behave.
