Hear Me Now

Sat, 06/14/2014 - 16:43 -- LEchols

to be Heard

rip opEn the chest

And feel the emotions

Ripped from your lips

hear Me, oh future, oh past

hEar me, oh children born, old men dead

Now is the time to act

to save what little we have left

Only we can stop the course this world is taking

the dark

tormented course filled with shame

doubt

fear

War.

generations before me

generations behind

behold

evil stands and knocks at our door

lurks among us

in various forms.

father

mother

sister

brother

son

daughter.

where were you when the world ended?

when the witching hour came and went?

they will ask me.

I will say

I was where all men were

sitting at home

lamenting the visage of humankind

where were you?

they will ask.

I will say, in my old age,

where was I?

no.

Where Were You?
