Healing

Location

Last night I had a dream
That I walked bare foot on broken glass
I felt the tearing of skin beneath my feet
I saw the deep dark red of my blood on the soil
The sweat and grime between my toes
And the sting of the crystal glass
Piercing right into my flesh
And the tightening on my face as I cried of pain
It made me understand clearly...
That my heart was the broken glass
And walking on them barefoot means living
In the darkness of my past
And my blood was the consequence
Of choosing to walk in the hurt of my mistakes
I realised that we choose to stay hurt
It is true that pain never goes away
It is okay to be broken, it is okay to bleed
Sometimes you need the pain
To remind you that you're alive
But beyond the hurt, is a better
Wiser and stronger version of yourself
A heart that is willing to love again
A spirit that is unwavering with determination
To try again, to fight and to keep hope alive
To show you that who you are becoming
Is greater than what you are going through
When you stay with your past
You plung your present in eternal darkness
When you refuse to move on from hurt
You go far away from the beauty of your future
When you walk on the brokenness of your soul
You hurt your feet......
