He taught me confidence

He taught me self-love

He told me he'd staypush come to shove

Enjoy the little things

Look at the stars

He'd get lost in my eyes, even from afar

He was the first I let explore me 

Mind and body

Heart and Soul

To know and please me was his goal

But dependent he became

Which is  something I tried to refrain

Love and happiness is provided by you

Something all should know and do

Others, like him, can make it rise

But if they are the source

It leads to your hearts demise

We ended things well 

Although at first it was hard to tell

I have no regrets 

For his love taught me more 

It taught me it was time for me to explore
