He, His, and Himself

Location

Sitting quietly,

reading peacefully.

He bothers absolutely

no one.

Suddenly voices,

from no where

to be seen.

He looks around

frantically

the wails, sinister,

growing, louder

coming from everywhere.

Abruptly, a hump

in the rug

catches his eye.

Slowly, he moves

holding a chair

ready to kill.

Once a kindhearted soul warps

into a monstrous beast.

His once peaceful home,

now a never ending

nightmare

of voices

and objects

only he

can see.
