Happiness within

When anguish tugs down on the corners of my mouth

and fastens itself stubbornly in my throat

I just remember this marvelously refreshing feeling:

Heart pounding stronger than pulsing sound waves

Legs pumping and reliable

Crisp white gusts of wind in my face

An excited blush pricks my cheeks and nose

A bubbling giggle tickles and delights my senses

Eyes shining and eager

Eyebrows pulled so high up they accentuate the eyes’ raw excitement

Hair whipping wildly without care

A smile splitting my face

Running endlessly

Possibilities flashing

Gasping for air

Spirit soaring beyond the highest clouds

White dress splaying

Carefree and wonderful

Is the child inside me
