Happiness Isn't Forever

Location

Their smiles are wide canyons

And eyes are sparkling stars.

They think that all of this hapiness will last.

And why shouldn't they ?

All their life they have been sheltered

From mean words

And heart breaking choices

One day though,

Their smiles will dim like dying light bulbs

And eyes will be hard rocks.

Then they will know,

Happiness isn't forever.

One day they will be truly hurt

And they will hurt other.

All because the secrets we keep,

The decisions we make,

And the promises we break.
