happily ever after

when i am six there is a princess, a prince, and a villain.

one beautiful,

one brave,

and one bad.

good beats evil,

and then there is happily ever after.

i want to live happily ever after too. i want to be good too.

when i am thirteen there is a princess, a prince, and a villain.

i wonder

was she more than beautiful?

what made him brave?

were they always bad?

“good” beats “evil”,

and then there is happily ever after.

i want to live happily ever after,

i think the villain did too.

when i am seventeen there is a princess, a prince, and a villain.

i think that

she is probably ugly on some days. and that is okay.

he is probably scared of some things. and that is okay.

they can be good too. and that is okay.

there is no “good”. there is no “evil”.

but there can still be happily ever after.

i want to live happily ever after,

“good” and “evil” all want to too.
