Halfway There

The first time I met you
I thought nothing of love
You were smart, you were funny
And a friendship began
The more that I knew you
Things started to change
My mind was conflicted
Were we now more than friends
I decided we could be
So, our journey ensued
Years passed as they do
And our love soon would bloom
On a cool windy day
When we both said I do
Our lives slowly meshed
And our partnership grew
Through thick and through thin
Our love would gain strength
Through good times and bad times
The years brought us closer
With the passing of time
Falling deeper in love now
It’s been twenty-five years
We take comfort in knowing
The best is still coming
We are just halfway there

This poem is about:
Me
My family
