Gun Takeover

Put that gun down

Young one.

You may be feeling red,

But you’ll be seeing red.

If you use that there gun.

It won’t solve

Nothing.

But cause a whole lot of

Dread,

Disaster,

And

Death-ever-afters.

You think because the hate

You may be feeling now;

Is going to go undone?

With that there gun...

Well listen up son,

You don’t need

No gun.

To express

Yourself.

Or

To stand up

For yourself.

Instead:

Use your words,

They can cut

Just as deep.

Use your education,

It can make you

Successful.

Use your dreams,

They’ll keep

You going.

It has been 23

And

Too many

School shootings.

Most people say it’s a

“Generational tick”.

“That today’s teens’ skin

Ain’t thick”.

Which leaves,

Gun access as

The culprit.

With

Bullying squeezing

Its trigger.

Doesn’t mean,

Bread is going to be broken with

Who smoked it.

Lets stop this ongoing statistic.

There’s all this commotion

But still not enough

Action

Which doesn't change

The fact that

Bullets are being sprayed

Bodies are being bagged.

And families are left being

Disrupted.

From school to school.

A place

where we there

Learn.

A place where we there

Accomplish.

A place where we there

Hope for

A future.

Not to see

the end

Of

Our future.

Our future.
