Simple words on a page

A moment or memory taking center stage

Line by line though seeming small

A poem is not quite simple at all

Him and his heartache, her and her unexplained blues 

A poem is a journey 

A mile to be walked in another's shoes

A world so vast feels smaller over time 

When we can relate with feelings translated through rhyme

Poems have taught me what no grade school can teach

That when we open up, so many hearts can be reached
