Grief and Passage

Location

Under tired mist and winter fall
I hear a solemn spectral call

A love echoing beyond mortal coil
From flattened grass and sunny soil

A memory of bright eyes and faces
Cool hands and warm embraces

Not lost against the wear of time
Still brilliant, serene, sublime

You and I were bound as one
You leave, but love isn't done

I know that even though you are gone
The wheel will keep on weaving on

And though I may be here on the ground
You are a leaf riding wind, lovely and unbound

So when I think of you floating alone on the breeze
I quiet and remember
There are other worlds than these.
