Green

Location

My memories of you are like the trees

Roots planted deep in the ground of my mind

Your branches, intertwined with every passing thought

The leaves of our past fall away subtly

It is winter now and you are a stranger again

But I think back to the kiss, the seed that planted this

Sometimes I wish to burn a thousand forests

Rather than to hear anyone sway in the wind the way you did

But I appreciate the colors you once showed me

When the weather was still warm

The oxygen you provided was all I will ever need

To sit beneath your shade for even a short time

Was all the nature I needed to embrace
