Greed

Proverbs 1:19

19 So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain;
It takes away the life of its owners.

Greed

Hidden wants and wishes will lay dormant for a while.

Somewhere in space and time they’ll knock on your heart’s door.

They will have some influence and with an attractive smile

will take you out to dine to subdue your inner core.

These characters were sly already ... before I was born.

Their nature integrated into the depths of my inner being.

Now they are going steady ... with what was forlorn

seldom now debated in my constant way of fleeing.

Their dominating power strikes many everywhere.

They will feed on self and build houses named “greed”.

Crushing every flower ... in their atmosphere

and drying every well ... to blind the Spirit’s need.
