The Great Pretenders

The Great Pretenders

They attend and pretend

I have no time for that

That’s why solitude is my sanity

It’s what I use when my soul has cuts to mend

It’s like high school and everybody is trying to be cool

How old are you fools?

Every day I pray God shields me from the shenanigans

But then they get nosey and wonder who my man is again

Does she still love her baby daddy now and then?

Is she working or twerking?

Whose man is she merking?

She says she is a Christian but her words in her last poem got my thoughts twisting

Well none of them truly know me so when they talk its, blah

I still have a few contenders that’s going to ride

So, leave me alone fake friend

Don’t attend if you’re going to pretend
