Gravity

Men kneel to kings,

        And kings kneel to gods.

    And though no monarchy holds my allegiance,

And no deity my faith,

Gravity still pulls my joints to the ground.

 

There are books filled with parables,

         With instructions on how to live.

                  I have perused them with tenacity and have found nothing.

Yet still there is a Bible and Quran and Constitution,

Filled with equations.

And they reveal how we do live.

 

 

It is because of gravity,

that those in power
