At graduation they look on

At graduation they look on with hopeful eyes

Some nudge each other and giggle, exited that they are almost done.

Some stare up at me in reverance, alredy preparing for the future ahead.

A sea of black in front of me, mourning the childhoods they do not know have died.

Around them are colors

Parents with cameras in hand and tears in their eyes, proud their children will have a good life.

I see the same thing every year, at graduation

New doors open, while others ae locked away

Freinds promise to never forget, but still do

Plans are made for futures that rarley happen.

In five or ten years they might come back

Some wealthy, Some poor, Some happy, Most wanting more.

As the last diploma is passed on, as the hats fly fly through the air

I look forwards to next years graduation.
