Graces of Critique

Be not afraid of stepping on other’s toes.

There is no shame in speaking one’s own mind.

Where the heart lies, the mouth often follows.

Be wary of using terms that are not found kind.

It is one thing to correct, another to be crude.

There is no humor in bringing people down,

Take no joy in harming others with words rude.

Act without finding fault, casting a frown,

Without petty, fearful, or angry intent.

There is no good in bringing dissention,

Find some ways of critiquing with relent.

Guilty is he who tries for attention.

All that is required is understanding.

Be aware of others when reprimanding.
