Good-bye

I used to think that you were everything

And with you, I could be anything.

You were very kind and sweet

and no matter what you said it would sweep me off my feet.

I thought I was in love with you

but I swore you were in love too.

It took me awhile to realize that that girl wasn't me

just some other blonde who you wanted to see.

I should have told you how I felt

because after I met you, I felt my heart melt.

No matter who you dated, I still waited for you

for there was nothing else I could or wanted to do.

But there came a time until I couldn't wait anymore

and a year later I found someone who was worth waiting for.

We fell deeply in love

and I felt just like a soaring dove.

No one could ever be like you of course but he was better

when he's with me, we can do anything in any type of weather.

I loved you, more than words could say

but I had to let go on that bad December day.

If you read this, I want you to know that I knew you cared for me

but with him, I've never felt so much glee.

I love him more than I've ever loved anyone

everything we do is just so much fun.

Good-bye old friend

our love had to come to an end.
