GONE AWAY

GONE AWAY are the days of innocence,

of barefoot wanderers and tie-dye dreams,

lifelong tours in a war they didn’t ask for,

marching home to silence, not to cheers; broken dreams.

GONE AWAY is the soft, sweet melody,

of voices rising in tender refrain,

of love, loss, and quiet reckoning,

a rhythm carried through all the joy and pain.

GONE AWAY are the voices that soothed our hearts,

that sang of love and quiet, aching truth,

now silent, but their songs live on within us,

killing us softly with memories of our youth...

And still, their memories linger,

echoing through every silent space,

where love and loss entwine forever,

their voices forever find their place,

echoed within their children’s hearts—Generation X.
