Gone

Sat, 07/05/2014 - 02:19 -- K.G

You said you wanted to die,

but I think you just wanted someone to care.

You went so long,

oh so long,

dealing with the whispers behind your back.

There were so many people that cared,

but so many more that hurt you.

Their words were winning the war inside your head.

The battlefield your wrists

both lined with red.

How are you still holding on was asked of you day by day

your only response was silence.

The night I got a phone call from you

was the night everything changed.

You said there was a rope hanging,

your words echoed in my mind and I hoped it wasn't the end

You said your final goodbye as the line went silent

along with the rest of the world.

The tears were never ending as I heard sirens in the distance.

And then you were gone.
