What I don't understand is you,

why you are who you are

why I was chosen in the first place.

I can't figure out why you smile

or laugh

or why it brightens my day.

I can't be upset with you

not for long

because for some reason you

lift me up.

And you ask me why I am so low

when I am usually so bright for you.

But how can I boost you up

without getting below you?

I can't explain why

I love you

and who knows why or when

this all began in my heart

but it has and I embrace

the fire it creates in my soul.

And it is my duty

my chosen duty

because I love you

I want to save you

have to save you

or I'll never forgive myself.
