Dearest Students
Please come in, don’t be overly concerned with finding yourself a seat
Feel free to sit, stand or simply lie down and go to sleep
By the end of our time I’m pretty sure you’ll be sitting at my feet
Because the ideas shared within this room are not for the average of sheep.

I am fully aware of the dreams you all share
Some wish to be rich while others simply don’t care
I can see through the lies, the deception and straight through the glare
Please explain to me students as to why you’re all here?

-Hey Mr. Teacher what a pleasure to meet cha
-Your class is run kinda funny you sure your supposed to be here
-We here have seen some of the best, from PhD’s to preachers
-What makes you so special, why follow your silly procedures?

My outlook is different, I instruct from a diverse perspective
I understand that schools today operate under sole based directives
Get them in and pass them out being one of their main objectives
Conceiving more average class Americans, I plan to become the contraceptive!

-Whoa dude you may be forgetting how we like to learn
-We all try and fit in, each day closer to the end of term
-Parties every other night while we drink as our stomachs churn!
-Our faces glued to phones, getting laid topping our main concern

-Fifty shacks are paid for some petty little classes
-Financial aid sponsored video games allow us to become successful by sitting on our .. ‘butts’
-It’s ok though when I graduate I will be able to support the masses
-I believe my degree is something in the ballpark of new swift moving molasses?

Please push this next comment through a strainer for tea. For what I’m about to say may offend thee
Students complain that their education could be far better if it weren’t for people like me
Yet the overlooked fact is there for all to see
Maybe the issue isn’t the mentor, but within the student one can find where the true problems might be….
