Go, Be Awesome

This past year has been a blur

I am now done with college - year one

And I can say this one thing is sure:

It was not at all very fun.

My room-mate was evil, a devil was she

The cafeteria's food was inedible

I cried so much, most days I couldn't see

And the gossip was not at all credible.

However, I finished the year with a bang

I made the Dean's List after all the hell

My soul was lifted, my heart loudly sang

And once at home, in exhaustion I fell.

Summer's now here and I'm working two jobs

Trying to help my mom and pay for life

Ignoring those bragging about their fun like snobs

And trying not to succumb to strife.

My grandma passed away and away we flew

To join my family for her funeral

Our love and bonds strongly grew

And the butterly release was beautiful.

To home we returned and back to work I went

And I cried over my lost family member

But I recall this when my tears are spent:

'Life is awesome', this I will always remember.
