Glittering Pearl
Glittering pearl,
just a little farther, just a little farther, just a little farther.
The blue water is cold; the pressure, it is enormous.
Numbing Pain, fingers can't be felt, lungs scream for air; just a little farther.
Can't feel legs, pain floods the senses; just a little farther.
There is a tug, a small tug; why?, it pulls me away from the pearl; just a little farther.
The tug, it won't stop, it won't stop.
The pearl is needed; just a little farther.
Pain, I will my legs to move, but I can't feel them, I can't see the pearl.
A hand?, it beckons.
Where is the pearl? Why is there so much pain?
The hand, it grabs me, it pulls me.
Light?, Light?
It is bigger than the pearl, so much bigger. And brilliant, brighter, so much brighter.
The pressure is gone.
My deep blue has turned into a glittering expanse,
My deep blue now dances and shines in the presence of the great pearl.
Sweet relief fills my lungs, the pain is gone.
The hand was a man and he shows me what is under the expanse of gold.
Many slowly falling, seeking little pearls;
He says, " You will help me save them."
I am saved
