Give me my Dad

The needles on the wall clock with the ticking sound
Pulverizing my soul, making my heart pound
Every audible gasp ensuing the other one
A blink of eye that snatched my reason
To live with elation and anticipating high
With you my dad, I'd reason to enjoy
From tranquil normality to the stark terror
The most difficult journey, I've travelled ever
I've grown up dad, frolicking in your arms
Forfended from perils, menace and harms
Strode on ground, grasping your hand
Sauntered to the right stoutly on the land
Stepped in teenage with your shadow on my head
My life, in hog heaven before you're dead
And then a cloud of despondency came
The spark of grief turned into a flame
That ignited my mirth, grappled my smile
The massive flame took me in exile
The unrestrained horse of time, I plead
For the one who is deceased, shrouded and buried
Return my dad, you've taken away
Give me my dad, at least for a day
