Girls

Girls, we have to do better, we have to be better.

We are more than pur hips, thighs, and long luscious tresses.

We are the minds that build, the hearts that love,

and the feet that tread ground that has not only been built

for us to stand tall, but to stride, stride with pride.

With that pride we drive ourselves forward, toward a smarter society.

from what i see, nothing is smart about today's world.

I live in it, and you do too.

But the difference is perspective, and interpretation.

from a person's perspective speaks experience,

opinionated generalizations, and lack of evidence as a whole.

what's stopping us from overcoming

this skyrocketing epidemic of disgraceful behaviors,

boggling backgrounds, and materialistic mindsets

is the inability to push for change.

If no one want's something to happen,

it won't happen. Right?

But what if it is in need of changing,

before it gets worse?

then what? Do we sit and watch

women degrade themselves for attention,

or disregard morals as a whole

for temporary dopamine boosts?

No. Something has to be done.

Someone has to put an end to this sickness,

because in actuality, it is a sickness, plaguing every teenage girl today.

For whatever reason, it makes one think. WHY?

the receptors in our brains trigger different things,

however, one thing must remain the same.

Sense. Girls, look at the world around you.

Changing? always.

There is no room for 'everybody's doing it',

or ' what are people going to think'? be yourself.

live for yourself.

Work to make a better you.

I love this poem so much. Some of the most well known people are women who have accomplished something. Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, Emily Dickinson and many others. Women are more than just a pretty face. We have pretty hearts, minds and souls as well
