She sits there waiting
Body shivering against the cold bite of wind that is relentless on her skin
Her eyes are downcast
Staring into the puddle directly below
Pondering
Pondering about the life that she could have had before the trouble all began
Her fingers dig into the frost bitten flesh upon her arms
Drawing blood and coating her skin in an angry flushed pink
Her lips pull down into a frown
Broken and chapped as the wind nibbles at them harshly
It wasn’t supposed to have happened like this
She had had her whole life ahead of her
But now she was without a home
A girl without a name
Tossed aside by society like used tissue paper
Forgotten by the ones that she used to call friends
Disowned by the people that were once her family
The street was her home
A bed of leaves were her bed
The only safe place to rest her head
She sits there waiting
Hoping
That someday,
Things will get better
