"That Girl" Suicide Prevention

She wakes up in the morning and wonders how she is going to make it

But she has a smile on her face, and it must look legit,

Because no one realizes she fakes it

Maybe it’s because she’s always joking

She’s been told that she appears to never have a care in the world

That smile, it must be working

Pearly whites that give off the illusion that she never had to fight

Long flowing hair

she stays neatly groom

She must be doing alright

But I’m telling you none of those smiles are true

Sometimes you must take a closer look at the person who laughs with you

You might be surprised at what you see

Who is that girl who stares back?

I do not recognize her

She’s change and that’s a fact

She no longer smiles the way she used to

Nor does she laugh constantly

The difference? It’s almost shocking

She’s hurting inside

And she’s not sure why

Something is missing from her

Maybe it’s her pride?

Or the strong urge to hide her feelings from everyone she knows

Take my advice, don’t be that girl

Please! Resist the change

It’s not easy living in her world

Where everyone thinks your life is so good

There’s no one to reach out to

Nothing you do will ever be understood

Because you’re worried of what they may say

So you carry the pain around from day to day

It becomes a burden and until you say something

No will ever know you’re hurting

And personally, I don’t think that’s worth enduring

But, this is the life of “That Girl”

And it will stay the same until someone recognizes the warnings

Instead of ignoring

We need to start luring in our peers

As we all know “suicide”

Is the last word we all want to hear

We refuse to confront the topic

As we are consumed by fear

Deep in your mind you think

“Maybe this could be true”,

but you feel guilty and you don’t want any anger directed towards you,

so you stay silent

But you can’t tell me you never noticed the signs

Refusing to acknowledge the fact that life is a test

The depression

the aggression

the angered expressions

The realization that people in life are either blessing or a lesson

Yet, that girl does not know this

She lives in the here and the now

And since her now is sad

She is convinced that her future will be none other than bad

Since there is no one around to persuade her otherwise

She only hears negativity and lies

One day when she is fed up,

and her body decides it no longer has the strength to cry

She will make a decision

within the blink of an eye

To the world she will seem

foolish and misguided

But she’s been thinking about it for a while

She’s gotten tired of the overused fake smile

That girl decided to handle her problems the best way she knows how

Because no one gotten through to her

There seems to be no other reason to remain on this earth

So she ends it

She leaves behind  world full of opportunities

And days where the sun would shine once again

But that girl will never know that,

because that was her end @huggies921
