the girl in blue

the girl in blue

We have never understood why

She was superior to us

For mother said, she was wise.

She speaks to herself

She bothers with no other

I just want to be seen as an equal

I am not as fair as her

My hair, my nose

Does not compare

I will never be a princess

I am fine with accepting

I will learn to love myself

Because

I am the ugly step-sister
