You gave him the talent of song

He sings with love and heavenly passion

How could such a man do this world wrong?

Generations will tell humble tales of his boundless compassion

You gave her the talent of voice

She calms even the most treacherous of storms

Was the reception of this gift a conscious choice?

Her voice as a fire amongst an endless sea of ice; welcoming and warm

You gave him the talent of imagination

He inspires the soul with heroic tales of love and sorrow

Do you consider him the pinnacle of your creation?

His words retain their power through yesterday and tomorrow

You gave her the talent of patience

She quietly sketches the lives of those she cherishes

Am I too insignificant to even dream of her acquaintance?

Never will there be a day when her final portrait perishes

You gave them the talent of persistence

Together they stood through the trials

How could two share a single existence?

Their bond withstood the battle of the miles

You gave me the curse of doubt

I covet the mind of my brother

Why must I feel empty; wondering what this life is about?

Countess days spent wishing I had the soul of another

No! I must rise above these words and pages!

I will find the gift you have given me!

My words will resound through the ages!

From this familiar darkness I will flee!
