Giant Shrimp

Thu, 11/05/2015 - 22:59 -- ChrisP

I started the same as everyone else:

small- innocent - carefree.

I was the youngest of three,

yet that was not who they wanted me to be…

Cursed words paraded my developing mind:

“stop breathing”- “go away” - “no one likes you”.

“What did it all mean” I proclaimed, turning blue.

But I knew no matter what, I had to pull through.

Through pain and misery, rose the man I am today:

compassionate - selfless - kind.

For I wish to eliminate pain and suffering that has taken bind

of so many helpless souls, randomly assigned.

Some things never change at all:

 I am still small.

Yet my heart has grown to the size of a blimp,

Therefore, I am a giant shrimp.
