raised with sorrows

and fed nothing but dreams

the ghetto, the kind of place where you go to dream

and dreams are nothing but sheets of paper

you take with you in front of the stoops

where dreams are having the hottest rides

and being the biggest most feared drug dealer

in the murder capital in new york

-all in the bronx the ghetto, my ghetto,

place i know is the only place where the strong survive

even when you survived

you failed raised with sorrows

and fed nothing but dreams

the ghetto is the only place

he wants to be to stamp an exclamation point

to his existence

he is seeking his cause

but yet

he is waiting for opportunity to come knock, knock, knock

on his door he survived the shootouts

within a five block radius the gang fights

when walking three blocks in the wrong direction

typically

he drops out of high school

skipped faster than skip to my loot

to cut school smoke with his homies

to be philosophically intelligent (for one day)

he wanted to be a rapper and host mc battles

whats crazy!!!!!!!!!! he is 40 years old now

and doing nothing but stay on the block

raised with sorrows and broken dreams

the ghetto

is the only place he wants to be where he wants to be

This was a very good poem. I could relate to this poem in many ways. It's also brought back many memories that I had trouble through but this has inspired me to get trying and I will eventually get through it.
